On the train, you meet polite turkish hookers able to use sign language.

PS: This may become a series. Or not. I fear the latter.

Alive again!

Posted on Thursday, November 20, 2008 in Rant

Well, what can I say. After a much too long hiatus and still with no idea who I am writing for, I just redecorated as you should have noticed and maybe will start posting again. Most probably about the culture I consume in this overcultured Berlin.

Stay tuned, my dear tumbleweeds!

Edit: Wow, I finally got wacky characters working again, even in the old posts, without editing nonetheless!

95%

I randomly tested myself with 200 of the 661 words of JLPT 4[1] vocabulary. Guess how much I was able to answer corectly. Just look at the percentage above. And this time the number really wasn’t my choice. (If you don’t get why this 95% stuff is notable, read my previous entry.)

Oh wow. Two posts in one month, I’m such a posting whore…

Well, who would’ve thought…

I seem to be doomed to learn languages through TV.

First I learned most of my German (which, if I may boast, is way better than the German spoken by 95% of Germany’s population) through TV, with cartoons and anime to be precise. As history tends to repeat itself and mankind never learns from its failures , today’s revelation really shouldn’t have surprised me:

I looked at my Japanese-textbook and realized, that after watching tons of anime (subtitled, of course), I could perfectly understand 95% (I seem to have taken a certain liking to this number today) of the text. Mind you, it wasn’t an academic essay, but nonetheless it isn’t bad, considering I’ve never made it through the book and haven’t actively learnt anything about the language since at least 3 years.

Things my mind is focused on, the last few days

Posted on Monday, June 19, 2006 in Rant

1. I want to go to Berlin to study law, my life here is so unbelievably boring right now…

2. I want to have sex with my girlfriend. Regularly. One would think that I’m entitled to this, after exactly 3 years. But no, we still have to live 500 km apart…

It’s unbelievable…

Posted on Monday, April 10, 2006 in Rant

…there’s so much happening here!

Let me give a small recap of the last week:

  • last night there was a (literal) catfight
  • wind was blowing this week too!
  • it even rained
  • and not to forget the sun came out
  • there were also people moving about

As you can see for yourself, I’m at the heart of something big. Expect weekly reports and detailed analysis later!

dead…

Stanisław Lem is dead… Sad thing, really.

In other news, my room is finally more or less freed of boxes! Also, tomorrow I’m getting the last parts for my bike and then happy upgrading can begin!
